Troubleshooting: Erasure Errors from iOS Recovery Mode (USB Reconnect Issues)

If an error occurs after the device briefly enters Recovery Mode during a normal erasure workflow, it is likely related to USB connectivity.
Our process briefly switches the device into Recovery Mode (to force a reconnect) and then writes IPSW.

In some environments, the USB reconnect at Recovery Mode may not be recognized reliably by the OS (Linux) due to compatibility between the cable/hub and the host controller on the PC.

The software is implemented to retry automatically several times, so it may succeed after a retry (and the logs will show success). However, if retries continue to fail, the process ends with an error and the iPhone remains in Recovery Mode.

MASAMUNE also supports erasure starting from Recovery Mode, so after an error, please reconnect the device (in a more stable way) and run the erasure again.

Also, because USB hubs can be a factor, please re-check your USB connection setup.
