Erasure itself was succeeding, but device reset took longer and the tool timed out, resulting in an error.
We increased the timeout and fixed the behavior so that the cloud side correctly records erasure completion. - Certain 2017 iPad models
We confirmed that the 9.7-inch model released that year had two different internal hardware variants.
We updated the implementation so erasure works correctly even when the device is the same model but a different hardware variant.
