This page presents real-world data erasure time benchmarks for devices processed by MASAMUNE. These statistics are based on analysis of past erasure logs.

The following statistics are real-world measurements with outliers (abnormal values) excluded.

Exclusion Reason: Exclusion Reason: May include degraded or defective disks and database recording errors
Exclusion Method: Exclusion Method: Values exceeding 3×IQR (Interquartile Range) from the range between Q1 and Q3 are excluded as outliers
Min/Max Times: Min/Max Times: Values after outlier exclusion. Before exclusion, maximum times included extremely long values such as 2,705 hours (approximately 113 days).
Erasure Method Filtering: Erasure Method Filtering: Only single-pass erasure methods are included. Verification processes (1time-verify) and multi-pass methods (2times, 3times, etc.) are excluded.
HDD Speed Limit: HDD Speed Limit: HDD maximum transfer speeds are typically under 300MB/s, so values exceeding 300MB/s are excluded as outliers.
Storage Degradation Impact: Storage Degradation Impact: These measurements include cases where write operations took longer due to storage device failures or degradation. Actual erasure times may vary significantly depending on device condition.
