User Errors — Type=4
The most common errors, related to user operations and device states.
1001 — Device Connection Lost
- Description
- Connection to the device was lost during operation.
- Cause
- USB cable disconnection, device power-off, or unstable connection
- Solution
- Check and reconnect the USB cable. Try a different USB port.
1002 — Operation Timeout
- Description
- The required user operation timed out.
- Cause
- The operation on the device screen was not completed in time
- Solution
- Follow the instructions on the device screen promptly.
1003 — Operation Failure
- Description
- The required user operation failed or was incorrect.
- Cause
- Incorrect operation procedure or device not responding properly
- Solution
- Verify the procedure and try again.
1004 — Unsupported Device
- Description
- This device type is not supported.
- Cause
- Unsupported device model or OS version
- Solution
- Please check the list of supported devices.
1005 — Reset Protection Detected
- Description
- Device has reset protection enabled (FRP / Find My iPhone).
- Cause
- Factory Reset Protection (Android) or Activation Lock (iOS) is enabled
- Solution
- Disable the reset protection on the device before retrying.
1006 — Root/Jailbreak Detected
- Description
- Device rooting or jailbreak was detected.
- Cause
- Device is rooted (Android) or jailbroken (iOS)
- Solution
- Select "Continue" in the confirmation dialog to proceed with the operation.
1007 — Cloud Not Authorized
- Description
- Authentication with the cloud service is not complete.
- Cause
- Cloud service login incomplete or credentials invalid
- Solution
- Verify cloud credentials and log in again.
1008 — Removable Media Detected
- Description
- Removable media such as an SD card was detected.
- Cause
- An SD card or external storage is inserted in the device
- Solution
- Remove the media or select "Continue" in the confirmation dialog.
1009 — Passcode Protected
- Description
- Device passcode is set and prevents the operation from continuing.
- Cause
- Device has a PIN, password, or pattern lock set
- Solution
- Unlock the device passcode before retrying.
1010 — NWRC Check Failed
- Description
- Failed to retrieve IMEI for network usage restriction check.
- Cause
- Poor device connection or IMEI information unavailable
- Solution
- Check the device connection and try again.
1011 — Network Usage Restriction Detected
- Description
- Network usage restriction was detected on the device.
- Cause
- Carrier network usage restriction (e.g., blacklisted device)
- Solution
- Select "Continue" in the confirmation dialog to proceed.
1901 — Cancelled
- Description
- The operation was cancelled by the user or system.
- Cause
- User aborted the operation or the system cancelled it automatically
- Solution
- Re-run the operation if needed.
External Tool Errors — Type=2
Errors that occur when an external tool or process fails. The error code (lower 32 bits) contains the exit code of the external process.

- Restart the application and try again. Contact support if the issue persists.
Internal Errors — Type=3
9001 — Not Disconnected for Reset
- Description
- Device was not properly disconnected for the reset operation.
- Solution
- Disconnect the device, reconnect it, and try the reset again.
9999 — Unknown Error
- Description
- An unknown internal error occurred.
- Solution
- Restart the application. Contact support if the issue persists.
System Errors — Type=1
System-level errors, usually caused by software or hardware issues.
- Solution
- Restart the application. If the issue persists, note the error code and contact support.
Worker Status Codes
A list of processing status codes recorded in logs. These indicate progress, not errors.

General Troubleshooting
- Check USB cable and connection — Reconnect the cable or try a different USB port.
- Restart the application — Close and reopen MASAMUNE Erasure.
- Restart the device — Power off and power on the target device.
- Check network connectivity — Verify internet access if using cloud features.
- Update to the latest version — Update MASAMUNE Erasure to the latest version.
